Only 2 velodromes in the US in the 1970's

[edit]

This is definately not true. I know from personal experience that the Encino, Northbrook, and St Louis velodromes were in existance during this period, and am reasonably sure that velodromes existed in San Jose, Portland, Kenoshoa, and New York from reports in the US cycling press of the time, although I have never personally seen any of these others. Perhaps what is meant is that this was only one of 2 built to a certain standard (i.e., suitable to host an event like the Olympics or World Championships).
